The all-consuming IP vacuum cleaner that is THQ Nordic has make a showcase! Mixing a nostalgic list of 90s covers with some intriguing newcomers, it was also surprisingly busy. So if you missed it and can’t wait for updates on previously announced titles like Outcast 2, Jagged Alliance 3 and Gothic, as well as big new reveals – including the return of Alone in the Dark – read on.

Alone in the dark

Rumor has it that the grandfather of survival horror is back in what THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive are calling a “reimagining” of the 1992 original. It’s written and directed by Mikael Hedberg, who helmed writes the superb Soma at Frictional Games, and will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC at a later date. Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed

The alien threat Crypto (or rather its clone) is back to terrorize humanity in Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, developer Black Forest Games’ improvement to the 2006 open-world action-adventure sequel. there’s a new trailer to guide you.

Space for sale

If you’ve ever dreamed of becoming a galactic real estate tycoon, here’s your chance. Developer Mirage Game Studios is call Space for Sale is a “hands-on” management sim, and it’s one that sees players scouring procedurally-generated alien planets in an effort to find the perfect spot to fulfill all the real estate needs of their discerning alien clients. There’s no release date for it yet, but it’s coming to PC.

Gothic

Developer Alkimia Interactive’s Gothic remake first appeared as a playable teaser back in 2019, and it proved popular enough that THQ Nordic agreed to give the green light a complete remake of the 2001 action-RPG. Once again players take control of a doomed prisoner who finds himself on a quest through a dangerous medieval fantasy realm, but this time with a few more bells and whistles modern. Gothic is set to release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at an unspecified future time – and there’s a new trailer waiting.

Shredded Alliance 3

Another aging favorite returns! A third entry in the Jagged Alliance series has been a long time coming, with at least two attempts at making the game, the most recent being over a decade ago, having waded. Tropico studio Haemimont Games is now tasked with bringing the series’ turn-based action to modern PC audiences, and you can get a fresh look at its efforts in the new trailer below.

Rising storm

Tempest Rising is Slipgate Ironworks’ attempt to capture the magic of classic ’90s real-time strategy games – think Command & Conquer – and promises a mix of base-building and “hard-hitting combat” in a 1997 alternative where Earth has been ravaged by nuclear war. Features include three playable factions, as well as skirmish and multiplayer modes, and it will be heading to PC.

Outcast 2: A New Beginning

Another much-loved oldie getting the revival treatment, Outcast 2 was announced last year, promising the return of the series’ protagonist with the absurd name Cutter Slade for another jaunt through the alien world of Adelpha. Adopting the same 3rd person open-world action-adventure model as the 1999 original, it is being developed by Appeal Studios for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. A trailer follows!

Trailer Outcast 2 – A New Beginning – Legend of the Ulukai.

Wreck

This is the latest game from Three Field Studios, the team of former Criterion developers responsible for Dangerous Golf and Dangerous Driving. It’s basically an open-world runner with a focus on freedom and player-created content, meaning you can explore, race, build physics-defying courses on the fly, and share your absurd creations on a whim. It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC next year.

Path of the hunter

A game of gorgeous open-world vistas and headshots of wild, majestic animals, Way of the Hunter might just be pretty good for people who enjoy those things. If that’s you, there’s not long to wait – Way of the Hunter is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC on August 16th and there’s a trailer below.

AEW: Fight Forever

Struggle! And you can hit someone in the head with a trash can, so I’m in on it. It’s coming “soon” to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Jerk

And that’s almost all! Along with a number of updates to existing titles – namely Stuntfest: World Tour, Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign and The Valiant – THQ Nordic had one last thing to share in the form of action platformer SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. It’s as crazy as you might expect and, instead of a release date, will be heading to Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC… eventually. Here is a new look:
