What's next for Nintendo Switch Online? (GameCube, DS, Pokémon Games, & MORE!)

In the more recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo expanded the Nintendo Switch Online service with Gameboy & Gameboy Advance games! We can now all play Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on our switches. NSO has changed so much since its original introduction back in 2018. From only starting with NES games. We now have NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy and even Mega Drive games!

So what is next for Nintendo Switch Online? There is still a lot of games and console gaps for Nintendo’s history such as Gamecube and the DS. Where are the Pokémon games?

  1. DS games I wanna see if ds is released on Switch
    Heart gold and Soul silver
    Fantasy Life
    Monster Hunter Stories
    Kirby Mass attacks
    Hyrule Warriors
    Link between worlds
    Animal Crossing ww and nl
    Ever Oasis
Lego JW, Harry Potter, and Batman set
Disney Magical world 1 and 2
    Minecraft ds
Drawn to life 1 and 2
    Scribblenauts set
    Poochie and Yoshi's wooly world
    Kirby epic yarn

  2. You do know i wouldn't mind seeing wii making apperance for nso expansion pack because since we now have ability to use joy cons as wii remote and controller it is possible to do those since it be top of the line thing

  3. saying its out for a fraction of the price makes it seem like you dont have to pay 50 bucks a year (2 years is more than the original msrp for 3d all stars) and those switch online services would take a bunch of storage

  4. 50$ for GameCube, Wii and DS would be incredible Wii Sports would work great with the Joy Cons. I am a teen born in the late 2000 and i would really like to play the old pokemon games

  5. If the Nintendo is going to put GameCube On NSL they shouldn’t put the game they remastered they would put something up like smash melee and Mario kart double dash for example

  6. Nintendo ds is all i want ngl

Mario kart ds my fav game

    Just cut the screen like

    | | t |
    | T |——|

T= top screen and the empty square is the bottom

  7. I don't think the Switch would have any issues running DS games, but the thing that makes me think it won't happen is the fact the Switch uses a totally different type of touch screen. You could use your finger or a compatible stylus if you wanted to on the Switch, but I'd argue it'd still be more awkward than playing like it was intended. Most games designed around the touch screen required precision (I know the Zelda games sure did). And, in my opinion, I think it would be a mess to control games on the Switch's touch screen. It worked well on the Wii U because both it and the DS used a similar type touch screens.

Then there's the problem with it being in docked mode.

Not to say Nintendo won't do it at all. They could maybe come up with something to make what I suggested a non-issue and still announce it, but as it stands I have doubts it would be ideal (at least for games designed around touch controls). ????

  8. Smartest options would be Sega Master System, Game Gear, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, and Dreamcast. Maybe TG-16 too.

Then Nintendo can just remaster DS & NGC games as they are.

  9. Switch Touch screen isn't as good as the one for the DS so those are unlikely and unless we get a better touch screen with a stylus with the Switch's successor console, I doubt that we'll get those or Wii or 3DS games.

Now as for the Gamecube, that's possible, as are the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast.

  10. I just want Virtual Console already, since the NeS for Wii U and 3DS are shut down already. If VC for Switch becomes a thing, I'll predict Famicom, Super Famicom, N64, GameCube, Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast and Neo Geo games would appear at launch. Master System and Turbo Grafx 16/CD? They can come later.
