Xenoblade Chronicles 3 spear for nintendo switch on July 29, but today it’s possible to get an early glimpse of the chain of events that sends Noah, Mio, and their fellow soldiers on a grand journey of fate. To see the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct video in full, visit Nintendo UK YouTube Channel.
As the latest entry in the critically acclaimed role-playing game series, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 bridges the future of the previous two mainline Xenoblade Chronicles games. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 can also serve as an entry point for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a massive RPG world with dynamic characters, a rich narrative, and epic scope.
In Aionios, the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, there are two opposing nations, Keves and Agnus, whose soldiers fight every day with their lives at stake. Six soldiers from these two warring nations are tasked with taking part in a special mission . Can these characters, once filled with mutual hatred, find a path that lets them all live?
In this spellbinding tale, players will travel with these fate-defying hopes to learn the truths of their world – a place where every victory in battle and every setback is a new chance to change the course of history and triumph over an uncertain fate.
Highlights of the presentation include:
Exploring a Vast World: Aionios features breathtaking natural splendor that contrasts with the dark conflict between the two nations. While traversing Aionios, locations visited by players are saved as landmarks that can be quickly selected and visited, making traversing this giant world more manageable. It is possible to walk freely or follow a trail to the next destination by activating a navigation function. While exploring, players will encounter a range of surreal landmarks and diverse wildlife. And just like the lands they inhabit, life forms here range from docile to dangerous. Some creatures, like the demonic Krenolur, do not hide their fierce tendencies.
Learn the Arts of Battle: When the party is ready to enter combat, they can harness powerful abilities, called Arts, to strive for victory. Some arts can throw opponents off balance, some deal more damage depending on where the attack is coming from, and some even heal allies. Linking multiple arts with awesome chain attacks unleashes havoc on enemies. Becoming more experienced in combat, party members can learn powerful Master Arts and Fusion Arts for even more devastating attacks.
Rest and quests at settlements: Exploring Aionios, players can scale cliffs, climb sandy slopes, zipline on ropes, and sail the seas. While the stakes can be high, it’s possible to enjoy the world at their own pace and discover settlements where they can shop, dine, get to know the locals, and take on quests. It’s easy to get a glimpse of the life of Noah and his friends in these settlements and resting places. Using collected materials to cook or craft gems can boost different abilities. It’s also nice to relax before taking in the next slice of awe-inspiring scenery or gunning down the next outlandish enemy.
Main Character Classes: Each character in the party has a class that influences how they fight. The Swordfighter leads the fight as a well-rounded attacker, but there are many other classes that specialize in healing, defense, and power strikes, among other abilities. Players can freely swap the character they control in battle, and their class can also be changed to match that of their allies. Spending time learning multiple classes can add to a well-balanced team.
Recruit heroes for the party: The journey through Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will feature a party of six main characters, but the brave inhabitants of Aionios called Heroes can lend their weapons and abilities to the team as the seventh member of the band. Only one hero at a time can help out on the battlefield, but players can swap them out as they see fit. And they bring their own special classes to your team, like Guardian Commander, Incursor, and War Medic. Party members can even take on any hero class when they become allies. By recruiting more heroes, players will expand the mix of classes and arts in their party, expanding the scope of their strategic options.
Merge into Ouroboros: By joining together in battle through interconnection, two characters in the party can merge into an extremely powerful form known as Ouroboros. Earning points in battle makes the already powerful Ouroboros even stronger. Ouroboros can also join Chain Attacks with the rest of the party.
Expansion Pass Content: Expand the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 with a paid Expansion Pass. From launch of the game until the end of 2023, players can obtain additional content that will be released in four waves** to enhance their journey through Aionios. Content will include useful items, new outfits and color variants, challenge battles, new quests, new hero characters, and finally, a new story scenario. The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass is available to pre-purchase from today on the Nintendo eShop for £26.99 / €29.99. Use any amiibo: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is compatible with amiibo accessories. By using any compatible amiibo, it is possible to acquire useful game items for the adventure in Aionios. Tapping the Shulk amiibo will cause a character’s sword to appear in the form of Monado, the signature weapon from the first Xenoblade Chronicles, when using Noah’s Swordfighter class.
